From the north:

| take the Gloucester Northern Bypass (A40) round Gloucester |
| follow signs to the Forest of Dean at several roundabouts |
| turn right on to the B4215 towards Newent at the temporary traffic lights where the A40 bends round to the left |
| stay on the B4215 through Highnam (speed camera), Rudford, and Highleadon (about 7 miles) |
| ignore the left hand turn signposted Newent Town Centre |
| ignore the right hand turn signposted Dymock and Three Choirs Vineyard (which is actually the |

| take the next right turn in to Horsefair Lane, after the Kings Arms, signposted Oxenhall |
