Yes, BITM really does stand for 'Bit In The Middle' - this is the group which covers the parts (of England) that others don't. The group caters for diverse volunteers who would like to visit different work sites. Accommodation is usually in village halls and the only cost (as with all groups) is for food. There are workparties once a month, which meet on the Friday night. Work is varied - from lock chamber clearance and bricklaying to tree and scrub clearing amongst many others.
